DIY Godzilla Dog

Our traditional Labor Day dinner seems to be morphing into grilled hot dogs or brats made with special sausages and various combinations of rolls, cheeses, sauerkraut and various other goodies. This year we chose hand made Andouille sausage from the local Co-Op, sauteed organic sauerkraut, locally made jalapeno cheddar cheese buns and shredded cheddar cheese of indeterminate parentage. This dawg is so chock full of flavor and excitement, we call it the godzilla. And after eating one, you can reeaaallly breath fire. LOL.


The preparation was fun; all done on our faithful old barbee; which we clean only once a year or so to retain all of the smoky goodness of past grilling as long as possible.

Tom got to fight the flare-ups which is challenging since every time you grab one of the sausage it spits out more liquid igniting more flare-ups. So he ends up chasing them around the grill. Oh well...
