DIY Kickass Korean BBQ Ribs

Korean BBQ Ribs
Believe it or not, we've never cooked Korean ribs. Our local meat vendor at the farmer's market tempted me the other day so I couldn't resist bringing them home and giving them a try. Tom and I made up what we thought would be a tasty and somewhat authentic Asian marinade. This recipe is delicious and it's so easy to put all of the ingredients together and marinate the ribs for a few hours or preferably overnight. The ribs were excellent and so was the sauce! We served the ribs with Bush's Asian Grillin' Beans. It was a perfect fit! When I went to the farmer's market this week I bought two more packages of ribs.

SERVES:          4
PREP TIME:     10 minutes
COOK TIME:     3-4 minutes per side on medium heat

INGREDIENTS:
8 Korean style ribs
1 C soy sauce
1 T fresh ginger, minced
1/4 C sesame oil
3 large cloves of garlic, minced
2 T sesame seeds
1/2 t red pepper flakes
1/2 C brown sugar
2 T apple cider vinegar
1 green onion, diced

PREPARATION:
1. Cut and dice ginger, garlic and green onion.
2. Mix the remaining ingredients in a medium sized bowl.
3. Put the meat in a 2 quart zip lock bag and add the marinade. Place in the refrigerator until about 30 minutes before you're ready to grill.
4. Turn the grill to medium heat and when it's hot, add the ribs. Baste with the sauce while the ribs are cooking.

Bon appetit,
Tom and Anita
